Systems prevent the penetration of corrosive materials into the substrate
(ceramic lining or synthetic resin coating) .
Due to the inevitable porosity and moisture absorption of
ceramic, bricks and tiles, application of a sealing layer is essential.
Sealing systems have good elastic properties; They are
applied as a flexible media layer between ceramic lining systems and
substrate for their ability of crack bridging.
Crack bridging is an important property of sealing layers
for a durable protection of concrete structures.
 Sealing
systems are used to separate top coat from the substrate. Both synthetic resin coatings and rubbers
can be used as sealing layer.
Sealing systems also increase the adhesion of top layers
to the substrate.
